Hazelwood School District
The Hazelwood School District is currently implementing Phase II of it’s Long Range Facilities Plan by providing renovations and additions to 19 of its 20 elementary schools. Phase I created four new middle schools and renovated two, each designed for a capacity of 900 students. Phase II upgrades include: appropriate space for Special Instructional Programs, MSIP compliant Media Center, Improvements to support services, and an instrumental music room. New spaces being provided at each school for special instructional needs include: speech and language, literary, reading specialist, occupational therapy, physical therapy, English Language Learners and a testing room. In addition, accessibility and security improvements are included in the renovation work. Administrative office areas are being added or remodeled adjacent to the front doors for added security and supervision; while new entrances provide a fresh look to the front of the buildings.
